Kellie Evans & Don Albert - Theme Song From Crack Steppin

Throwing down the real Disco Funk music off of a musical soundtrack.  This is how the real heads get down.

Family of Eve - Having It So bad For You

J.A.M.

Is anyone else's copy on orange clear vinyl???

Stanton Davis - Things Cannot Stop Forever

Jazz Fusion cut "Things Cannot Stop Forever" is the brilliant first track off of the Ghetto Mysticism LP.  I was happy to find one for $5, but if you aren't as lucky, you can still get a copy for a pretty reasonable price, or snatch up the reissue which I heard came out lovely.  I haven't tried this on in a club yet, as it might be a bit too left field for some of the dancers, but this whole LP has given me plenty of music listening satisfaction at home on the turntable.  Maybe one night when I've got all the dancers in my pocket, I'll drop this one on the real heads at 3am and watch them dance like stoned hippies.

Love To The World Prayer - by LTD and THE MIZELL BROTHERS

I'm feeling spiritual today, so here is some spiritual soul jazz from LTD.  I can't stress just how deep and lovely I find this song to be.  It's an all time great.  Beautiful music for positive people.

New World Generation - Curious Soul

Yeah hunting for OG's is really cool and a big part of what makes this vinyl stuff so fun, but in all honesty this NWG album is one of those releases that is still great to have the double lp reissue.  First of all, and most importantly this issue came straight from the original masters and sounds great, you also get wider grooves per song for better snap with the 2xlp, and some unreleased versions of some great tunes like "Sunshine" which I can't seem to find online, but are worth the price of admission alone.  There is also a neat little booklet with interviews, lots of cool band photos and scans of gig flyers from back in the day.  I've got to say, that's a quality release, and you are getting a big bang for your small buck.

"All I want is to spread love around the world..."  Great tune!

Michael Soward - He's Alive

You should have this one in your box by now, and if you don't, it's never too late!

Welcome To Me - AMALIA (Cherries Records, Chicago)

I'm quite suspicious of new music, but drop this puppy prime time and watch your dance floor get down.  Obviously inspired by Chaka Khan, this Boogie tune hits a sweet spot with me.  Buy this record before it sells out, which happens quickly these days with limited vinyl releases.

Floating Points at Bellwether was...

Floating Points at Bellwether was FAR OUT!

Special thanks to all the party people that brought their fantastic energy, and inspired Floating Points and myself Love On The Run to drop heavy vinyl heaters all the night through.  The vibe was THICK and we had a blast!  Thanks to JAVYBZ for dreaming up this idea and making it a reality.  We had a spectacular night of Soul, Boogie, House and plenty of proper Disco bumping on those speakers for the dancers.  Thanks to Floating Points for coming down and tagging the decks with me till 4am.  We need to do it again...

***Floating Points and Love On The Run Back to Brooklyn this Friday***

Javybz cordially invite you to welcome back UK special guest DJ/Producer Floating Points, on his first return after bringing down the house earlier this year at the epic Mr. Saturday Night party in NYC.  This time he's making his way into Brooklyn with DJ Love On The Run on a quest to plug into No Ordinary Monkey's impeccable vintage analog speaker system, guaranteeing the choicest sounds around.  Between these two DJs expect fresh new productions, along with vintage Disco, Boogie & Soul rarities bumping out of those speaker cabinets while you dance your blues away.  Do not miss this extremely rare opportunity to hear both of these DJs playing together on such a terrific rig this Friday, October 19th.  This is one night only.  You snooze, you lose!

No sleep till...

Bellwether is located just north of McCarren Park, at 594 Union Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY 11211
